How to Prepare for an Earthquake

| Many areas have Earthquakes. In the past week we have had 6 Earthquakes where I live, not aftershocks, but earthquakes. A few of them were scary even though I have lived with them all my life in California. The San Francisco area had one recently also. These are just the ones that I know of. What if an Earthquake happened in your town, would you be prepared?How do you prepare for an Earthquake? What can you do to help prepare your home and your family if an Earthquake struck? What basic items do you need in case of major damage?
Living on the San Andreas Fault in Southern California I know that one of these days the “Big One” will come, and being prepared is important to my mental health, especially after this week.
