Yesterday I attended my 2nd Rebar Camp Conference where people from all over the area, and sometimes the country, get together to share ideas and show how to use the newest andbest technologies. Yesterday I attended the Portland, Oregon Rebar Camp.

How does my learning new technologies help my Real Estate Clients? The more I learn, the better my Real Estate Marketing gets.
Twitter-a fast paced micro blogging site where you get involved with people from your area, or interest.
How can this help you? Look at President Obama….he was the first President to use Social Media sites to get his message across. This is the perfect media for that, and many many times we see things happening before it hits mainstream media.
Flickr- Again, a site where someone that loves photography can upload photos, make sets (groups of photos on a certain subject) and then put a website link.
How does this help you? It helps people find people with similar interests. Real Estate is all about people, and we all like to work with people that have similar interests.
Using Video in Marketing and Blogging sites- Blogging is absolutely the 21st Century way to connect to people. Somewhere around 2-5% of all REALTORS are actually blogging consistently, actually working at building relationships online. Imagine the difference of hiring a Real Estate Professional that understands the importance of todays technology to help their clients as well as develop a network of other professionals. Video is becoming more important than ever as people have less and less time to read everything (like this). This can only help you in the long run!
Rebar Camp Portland was a fun time, and I met several Oregon Professionals from several fields, all that spent the day helping each other learn new things.
That is the real benefit of the Rebar Camps. Hiring a Real Estate Agent that understands technology and utilizes it is the way to go in todays world.
Thanks everyone in Portland, OR and the Portland REBAR Camp from Kathy McGraw
