For the past couple of years a real emphasis has been placed on Being Prepared. It was recommended to have a basic bag packed in case of an emergency and or evacuation.

Every year California is prone to Wildfires. The Santa Ana Winds don’t help much and this year is no exception. High winds have helped fuel the wildfires, and have made it difficult for Firefighters to battle the blazes. Thousands of residents have had to flee their homes in 3 different counties, and over 500 homes have been destoyed.
Fireseason is typically in October, but today the Governor made the comment that fireseason is “year round” in California.
California on Fire Again
It is almost 8pm right now. We all know this is a Historic Election, and there are as few things that are on my mind as I wait for the results. Nelson Mandel popped into my mind- a Leader in Africa. Martin Luther King saying ” I have a Dream”. My teenage years in CA and watching as so many people fought for Civil Rights, and my generation fought for Peace and Equality.
The Polls in CA just closed and ABC at 8PM called the Election for Barack Obama………unbelievable. I thought for sure we would have to wait, but no~ because our system is based not on the Popular Vote, but on the Electoral Vote. The message that no one can deny is today you can indeed be anything you want to be. Today America has turned a page for Diversity. Today is indeed a Historic Victory for America. No matter how anyone voted, we cannot change this Historic Moment ~ an African American President in my lifetime. Now that is “Change” for sure.
